Yamaha is known for its rich legacy of the some of the most innovative motorcycle engine. Their MT series (Naked racers), R series (performance oriented racers, XSR series (neo cruisers), Max Series (sport scooter).  With these Yamaha also launched its own of most Robust and Versatile motorcycle Yamaha Tenere 700 in 1982. Apparently in this type of motorcycle there is good amount of competition from Aprillia Tuareg 660, Suzuzki V storm 800 DE and now Honda has also launched its Honda Transalp, But still Yamaha Tenere is still in demand.

The Tenere series has a long history, dating back to the early 1980s. These bikes, named after the Tenere Desert in the Sahara, were created to tackle difficult terrain and long-distance races. The Yamaha Tenere 700 builds on this history, drawing influence from the popular XT660Z Tenere and the WR450F rally motorcycles.

Since its introduction, the Yamaha Tenere 700 has created waves in the adventure bike sector. This motorbike has won the hearts of adventure lovers all around the world thanks to its adaptability, rugged design, and great off-road skills. Design and Build Quality

Since its introduction, the Yamaha Tenere 700 has created waves in the adventure bike sector. This motorbike has won the hearts of adventure lovers all around the world thanks to its adaptability, rugged design, and great off-road skills. In this article, we’ll look at the Yamaha Tenere 700, including its features, performance, and what distinguishes it in the competitive world of adventure bikes.

Engine and performance

The Tenere 700 is powered by the CP2, a 689cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine based on the MT-07. This engine is well-known for its dependability, smooth power delivery, and impressive torque capabilities. With 72.4 horsepower and 68 Nm of torque, the Tenere 700 provides enough of power for both on-road and off-road excursions. The engine’s linear powerband and snappy throttle make it enjoyable to ride in a variety of settings. Now Tenere 700 was made as off roader adventure bike. This motorcycle have very good tractable torque delivery which do not feel very overwhelming yet this is more than enough to face various types of roads and terrains.

Apparently, this is not very performance oriented motorcycle like Honda Translap or any of its competitors because for highway touring it have slightly softer suspension and low windscreen due to which windblasts is more. But overall engine performance on highway is still really good if you want to tour with Tenere 500 you can do it.

Suspension and Handling

The Tenere 700 comes with a strong suspension system that offers outstanding handling and comfort. The front has a 43mm inverted fork with 210mm of travel, while the rear has a link-type suspension with 200mm of travel. Both are completely adjustable, allowing users to tailor the bike to their needs and riding circumstances. The long-travel suspension, along with the 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels, ensures good ground clearance and stability on tough terrain.

The suspensions robustness gives really great response on off-road and the response on the road is still great but slight softer for that purpose but again Tenere 500 still do the job really well off-road. The response is great most of riders will be happy with it. But still people who do want to more long tour will also get response from soft suspensions also and rider will get used to it after quite some time.

Off-road Capabilities

Off-road capabilities are one of the Tenere 700’s most notable qualities. The bike’s design and engineering are geared at adventure riding. The thin bodywork and compact seat let riders to maneuver freely while maintaining control, especially in demanding off-road conditions. The switchable ABS system guarantees safety while maintaining off-road performance. Furthermore, the bike’s lightweight design makes it easy to control, especially on difficult routes.

Off-road is Tenere 500 main area of expertise for me because simple and quite modern design, great weight management, great suspension setup, and good torque delivery makes Tenere 500 really great off-road machine. I think torque delivery could be more linear for the off-road but still I think majority of people will be happy with it.

Comfort and Ergonomics

The Tenere 700’s ergonomic shape makes it easy to ride over long distances. The upright riding position, broad handlebars, and well-padded seat ensure comfort and decrease tiredness for long travels. The bike’s windscreen provides enough wind protection, improving rider comfort at higher speeds. Furthermore, the Tenere 700 has a digital LCD display that shows important information like as speed, fuel level, and trip statistics in an easily legible fashion.
