Bajaj Pulsar N250: Redefining Performance and Style

Introduction

The is the most recent addition to Bajaj Auto’s legendary Pulsar family, and it is setting new standards in the world of high-performance motorcycles. With its cutting-edge design, advanced features, and powerful performance, the Pulsar N250 is destined to change the riding experience for fans all over the world.

While Bajaj Pulsar has very long history in Indian motorcycle market. It still very much define its history with its classic high revving engine and responsive throttle. Nowadays, Bajaj pulsar has got various variety to meet the need of every rider market but still it has a long way to go. Bajaj has done very exceptional job and updates in new pulsar N250 but still there are some points to note while you are trying to update from your previous bike.

Bajaj Pulsar N250: Engine and performance

At the core of the Bajaj Pulsar N250 is a powerful 249cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine designed to give thrilling performance across all RPM levels. With Bajaj’s sophisticated fuel injection technology, the engine produces an amazing power output of 24.1 horsepower at 8750rpm and 21 Nm of torque at 6500rpm, delivering exhilarating acceleration and effortless cruising on both city streets and highways.

The liquid cooled engine of new Bajaj Pulsar N250 works very well so that engine do not start to get heat up and start to eat the performance at higher rpm. While the power figure looks really good on paper but still its real essence is on road. When rider commutes in city the engine does give very good performance but if you are riding on highways or open roads and try to open the throttle to achieve high speed, Bajaj Pulsar N250 feels very struggling to achieve that speed but Bajaj another product NS200 does this job very well and feels quite confident in achieving those speeds.

After riding for 250 to 300km one can say that it is very good city commuter but on high speed it lacks little bit of performance but one thing is very distinct for Pulsar N250 which is not present in Pulsar NS200 that is the good low end torque. The initial pickup of Bajaj Pulsar N250 feels really good and very responsive. I think the engine of Bajaj Pulsar N250 is slightly over squared than NS200 which gives N250 great low end torque.

One of the most successful product in Bajaj’s pulsar line that is Pulsar F250 had very good low end torque while giving the good amount of performance on higher rpm as well. Pulsar F250 had very balanced performance but that performance is still lacking in Pulsar N250.

The engine is coupled to a smooth-shifting 6-speed transmission which feels very smooth on every gear transmission, allowing riders to maximize performance while retaining fuel efficiency. Whether managing heavy city traffic or starting on long-distance journeys, the Bajaj Pulsar N250 provides a responsive and entertaining riding experience.

Bajaj Pulsar N250: Chassis and Suspension:

While Bajaj had made very remarkable motorcycle for Indian Market the chassis was not very strong point in every pulsar. The older version of Bajaj Pulsar N250 had not very good chassis setup which was quite a problem for many riders. But Bajaj has done very good job in improving that chassis and new Bajaj Pulsar N250 got quite a strong chassis with the same structure but slightly broad chassis from back side to give extra support to engine which is a really good update in bike. The tubular steel frame setup is very sturdy and very durable.

Now, comes the part of discussion which is not touched by many other critiques is suspension setup. The whole story of suspension setup starts from the increase in tyre size and decrease wheel setup. The front tyre size gone up from 100/70-17 to 110/70-17 while the rear tyre gone up from 130/70-16 to 140/70-17 wheel base is 7mm shorter and ground clearance has increased.

Even after these changes the Bajaj  Pulsar N250 do not got any retuning in suspension setup. The front suspension is upside down 37mm which is very good update but there is no retuning to make suspension slightly soft.

While at low speed and in city commuting the suspension might not pose any problem but at higher speeds on highway suspension setup is quite stiffer. Cornering around at high speed might not feel very much confident even though it has monoshock suspension setup for rear wheel.

While NS200 still got very good monoshock suspension setup for rear wheel which feels very confident. The retuning in suspension setup is required because it will greatly make the difference in rider’s riding experience.

Bajaj Pulsar N250: Instrument cluster and Riding modes

Previous Bajaj Pulsar N250 had decent instrument cluster with good modern features like Bluetooth connectivity and turn by turn navigation. New Bajaj pulsar N250 also have very good instrument cluster with every information that a rider needs. It has negative LCD display which is very good looking and very stylish.

However, the size of display is very small and after riding for 100km it feels quite cluttered and very small. On highway with sun over the head the visibility of instrument cluster not feels very good. However, in night rides the negative LCD display feels very good and visibility also increases and it also feels quite stylish as well.

New Bajaj Pulsar N250 have 3 riding modes which is actually kind of ABS mode which means each riding mode intervenes with ABS mode to match or increase or decrease the rotation of rear tyre with front tyre. M button on left side switches the ride mode. 3 ride mode are road mode, rain mode and off-road mode. The road mode is quite normal mode with normal ABS settings. Rain mode have very intrusive ABS which prevents bike from slipping on wet roads.

Off road mode is quite interesting mode, most people may assume that on off road Pulsar N250 can cross any type of bad patch while it’s not. Suppose rider is on uphill and road is not good, generally Indian roads, off-road mode will momentarily lock the rear wheel on uphill to prevent bike from slipping. You can off the traction control in this mode if you want to create extra spin in rear wheel on uphill. However, one slight problem is that you can switch to off road mode on 18 to 20 kmph only.

Traction control – When rear wheel starts to slip on bad patch system will cut off some power supply to reduce to spin and retaining the balance once again.

Generally, traction control is done in those vehicles which are ride by wire which includes 3 components i.e. throttle, fuel cut-off and spark plug cut-off  but Bajaj Pulsar N250 do not have any ride by wire components which leaves it with only two components i.e. spark component and plug component only.

While cutting the spark and fuel component and controlling them even without throttle component Pulsar N250 works very well. Bajaj Pulsar N250 has small displacement engine and not very much performance on higher end of rpm these 2 components work very well for traction control.

However, if this bike had big displacement engine then with only these components traction control will feel very less responsive and very less active .Traction control of Pulsar N250 works very well in every condition which ensures very good safety and builds great confidence on high speeds.

Bajaj Pulsar N250: Design and Styling

The Bajaj Pulsar N250 has a dynamic and aggressive look that immediately attracts attention on the road. The Bajaj Pulsar N250 draws inspiration from its larger Pulsar brothers, with sharp lines, powerful fuel tank extensions, and a sleek, aerodynamic fairing. LED lighting components, including a distinctive LED headlight and taillight, provide a modern touch to the bike’s overall appearance.

The overall designing is very good and very stylish. Although Pulsar F250 had very great components and performance but one of major drawback was its designing. Bajaj has done very great job in designing and styling with great attention detail. Three colour themes i.e. Glossy Racing red, Pearl Metallic white and Brooklyn Black as well.

All 3 colour schemes looks very good and very stylish but Pearl Metallic White feels like a true beauty for this bike. The detailing in design is excellent I think Bajaj has done very good job in that section.

Conclusion

Bajaj Pulsar N250 feels very nice performance oriented bike. Very comfortable and not very race oriented posture which feels very good and comfortable for both city commuting and highway rides. With great styling and 3 riding modes Bajaj has setup new benchmark for Indian Naked Street Racer motorcycles.

While you might feel that high end performance is lacking and cruising speed on triple digit speed is quite not possible but you will get very good low end torque and very comfortable city rides.  Although new Pulsar N250 got very good updates but the pricing still not very high from previous Bajaj Pulsar N250 which is around 1000rs increase for new Pulsar N250.

Those riders who want an update from smaller CC motorcycle and those riders who want a stylish and great looking motorcycle just for city commutes and with few occasional highway rides this bike is great deal with great package.
